Last Saturday was cycle day for me, for those that have been keeping up with Capall Dorcha via our social networks

we have been raising funds for our youth board and our upcoming professional development workshop in October.   And when Saturday came, I left Blackwaterfoot in the morning and cycled the whole island of Arran in 4hrs and 50 mins! (anti-clockwise).  Before you reach Lochranza, your body is emotionally drained, and the sight of another hill to cycle is enough to break you! As in total there is a 4021ft climb ahead!

If you haven’t cycled before, its perfect for anyone to spend a lovely weekend away, each small village is uniquely individual, and there are lots of small craft shops and great places to eat as you cycle around as well as the beautiful wildlife on the island.

In total, we raised £126 online with more donations still to be handed in.  Wither it’s a drama workshop with a specialist or buying theatre tickets in Glasgow the youth board decides on how the funds should be spent.

I wish to thank everyone who has supported me (including my legs that still hurt) and supporting the organisation allowing our local young people to make entrepreneurial decisions in North Ayrshire and Arran.

If you would like to donate to this cause, please pop into our office at the Michael Lynch Centre in Ardrossan or if you are a young person and wish to come to the next youth board meeting visit and book online via our website.
